I don’t think Cooke Aquaculture deserves to be legislated out of business in Washington state.

As we speak, two bills are worming their way through the Washington state legislature, both seeking to deliver a fatal blow to the state’s salmon farming industry, all of which is owned and operated by Cooke. The governor has pen in hand, ready to sign the death certificate whenever lawmakers deliver it to his desk.

The legislative activity is the result of the collapse of one of Cooke Aquaculture's salmon pens off Cypress Island last year that released more than 300,000 Atlantic salmon into state waters.
