Chilean salmon producers whose processing plants remain suspended from shipping fish to Russia remain in the dark about when they will be able to resume loading consignments.

Chile's Fisheries and Aquaculture Service Sernapesca has increased remote monitoring of plants aimed at smoothing the path for still-suspended facilities to resume shipments.

In late 2019, bans were implemented on 19 Chilean facilities that process or distribute farmed salmon following an audit carried out by Russian health body Rosselkhoznadzor, which cited violations of the country's sanitary regulations.
