Rebounding US and European shrimp orders in June have lifted the spirits of Ecuadorian shrimp exporters emerging from the COVID-19 crisis as they continue to look to diversify their client base and reduce their dependence on the Chinese market.

Exports to the United States in June rose 33 percent to 36 million pounds compared with the same month last year.

In the opening six months of this year exports were 91 percent ahead of the same point in 2020 totaling 203 million pounds.
