Norwegian salmon giant Mowi reported yet another strong quarter for its Consumer Products value-added (VAP) division, but the positive effects of the pandemic on retail sales is showing signs of waning.

Although the company reported “the best ever” revenues for a third quarter, overall earnings for the division were relatively stable at €21.5 million ($24.7 million), 1.5 percent higher than the same time last year, and sales volumes actually slipped slightly to 60,399 metric tons.

Increased raw material prices, which took a bite out of earnings, were offset by higher sales prices and improved operations and production costs, said Mowi.
