Spot market players told IntraFish Wednesday that salmon farmers are in the driver's seat with Easter bearing down, with demand pushing prices up to nearly NOK 75.
"There is a huge demand for salmon right now," said one farmer, who told IntraFish he reached deals for between NOK 74-75 for 3-6 kg fish.
On mid-day Wednesday, producers gave IntraFish the following prices:
- 2-3 kg: NOK 65 (€6.80/$7.70) - 66 (€6.88/$7.72)
- 3-6 kg: NOK 73 (€7.60/$8.60) - 75 (€7.81/$8.83)
- 6+: NOK 74 (€7.70/$8.70)
