Norwegian farmed salmon prices saw a spike in week 42, according to the latest Nasdaq figures.

The average price of salmon was up 12 percent from last week to NOK 51.20 (€5.03/$5.60).

Fish in the most popular weight class, the 4-5 kilo size, increased by NOK 3.99 (€0.30 /$0.44) in week 42 to NOK 51.91 (€5.10/$5.67). This category has a 30 percent market share.

The 3-4 kilo weight class also increased by NOK 4.27 (€0.42/$0.47) compared to the week prior to NOK 48.93 (€4.81/$5.35).

Norwegian spot prices for farmed salmon are continuing their rise, but the upturn is moderate, according to salmon suppliers who recently spoke with IntraFish.
