The consolidation of Alaska's wild salmon sector continues, with two major processors merging operations just weeks before the start of fishing in Bristol Bay and other major areas of the state.
Canada-based Canfisco has purchased Marubeni-owned North Pacific Seafoods, according to several sources. Attempts to confirm the deal with company officials were unsuccessful.
Details of the transaction have not yet been disclosed but are expected to be revealed in a press release on Monday.
