Scottish salmon farming trade association Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation (SSPO) named Richard Beckett head of standards. He most recently worked for Lloyds Register, where he was operations manager for aquaculture.
Beckett took on the new role this week.
Also this week, SSPO named Tavish Scott, a former Scottish government minister and Shetland member of the Scottish parliament (MSP), as the new CEO.
Food Standards Scotland (FSS), a government organization, hired the former SSPO CEO Julie Hesketh-Laird as strategy director, effective Nov. 3.
Laird left SSPO in September, saying it is a good time to move on as the "sector emerges from the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis."
