Food Standards Scotland (FSS), a government organization, hired former Scottish Salmon Producers Organization (SSPO) CEO Julie Hesketh-Laird as strategy director, effective Nov. 3.

Laird left SSPO in September, saying it is a good time to move on as the "sector emerges from the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis."

With FSS, Laird will finalize the restructuring of Food Standards Scotland's strategy and oversee preparations for Brexit and its repercussions.
