The Northwest Aquaculture Alliance (NWAA) has appointed Pacific Seafood Group Farmed Finfish and Shellfish Business Manager Svein Wiese-Hansen to its board of directors, the association announced Monday.
NWAA, formerly the Washington Fish Growers Association, is a trade association that represents aquaculture producers and suppliers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia.
Wiese-Hansen previously worked with state and federal agencies responsible for overseeing the shellfish aquaculture industry in Oregon. He will strengthen NWAA's ability to represent the interests of both shellfish and finfish aquaculture in the Pacific Northwest region and address the regulatory environment, the group said.
