Lynsee Fowler, the National Fisheries Institute's (NFI) director of Communications and Multimedia, has left the US seafood trade association to join Golden Key Group, a Washington D.C. government contracting firm. Fowler will be developing and managing communications and marketing for the firm.

Fowler was hired at NFI in August 2012 as its communications coordinator. She moved up the ranks, and in 2019 was named NFI's director of Communications and Multimedia.

During her tenure with the group, she launched NFI’s video strategy, hosting and/or producing more than 600 videos. She also integrated issues and policy communications into NFI’s social media and digital formats, and represented NFI in strategic communications collaborations with global seafood trade associations.

"I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such great member companies and the terrific NFI staff under John Connelly’s leadership," Fowler told IntraFish.

"From meetings on Capitol Hill to interviews with the media, it has been an honor to communicate on behalf of such a hardworking industry that brings the healthiest animal protein on the planet to American plates. While I’m leaving the industry in an official capacity, I’ll be a life-long seafood advocate."
