Chilean salmon producer Multiexport Foods has appointed Josefina Lyon Fuentes to head its value-added products division.
The role is a key part of Multiexport's effort to more prominently position itself in export markets, the company said.
Multiexport Foods shipped 69 percent of smoked salmon orders to international markets worth $42 million (€38.6 million) in 2019.
"We are convinced that the development of the industry, and particularly of our company, will be linked to this type of products that have a growing demand,” Multiexport CEO Andres Lyon said.
Last month Multiexport secured $250 million (€224 million) in financing, which will be used to pay current loans with banks and support the company's long-term strategic development plan.
