Land-based seafood firm Nordic Aquafarms named recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) design specialist Mikkel Kristian Thomsen as the group's CTO and head of Nordic Aquafarms Technology (NAF Tech).
Thomsen has been with the company since 2019 as a manager of the Danish subsidiary. Prior to joining Nordic Aquafarms, he was head of design at Danish RAS supplier Inter Aqua Advance.
NAF Tech is the group's in-house RAS engineering, design, procurement and project management vehicle. The subsidiary will also manage the group's patent portfolio for its RAS designs.
The Nordic Aquafarms group has operations in Norway under its Fredrikstad Seafood subsidiary, and is in the process of developing a land-based salmon site in Maine, United States.
