Alex Myers, former CEO of Mediterranean seabass and bream giant Avramar, died suddenly in early January while on holiday with his family, the company confirmed to IntraFish.

Myers, who took over as CEO of Andromeda, the forerunner of the merged group, in 2019, was among the key architects of what is now the world's largest seabass and bream company.

Avramar, made up of a merger of Greek giants Andromeda, Nireus and Selonda, restructured the troubled industry into a powerhouse with estimated revenue of over $500 million (€415 million).
