After a decade of service at salmon farmer Cermaq CFO Thomas Palm bowed out to pursue a career in different sectors, the company announced on Jan. 24.

"It has definitely not been an easy choice, but after many, very exciting years in Cermaq, I want to try myself in a new industry and a new company," Palm said.

The Mitsubishi-owned company appointed Palm CFO in 2016, at the age of 33.

Prior to that, Palm held several key positions in Cermaq including business development analyst, finance director of Cermaq Chile and until today finance director of Cermaq Norway. He also worked with SEB Enskilda and with Statkraft before he joined Cermaq.

The company did not announce who will replace Palm yet, Communications Director Lise Bergan told IntraFish.

Cermaq is one of the world's leading companies in salmon and trout farming, with operations in Norway, Chile and Canada.
