Trident Seafoods on Monday announced it would launch its first retail branding and marketing initiative in China, sparking off a series of new product roll outs during the year.

The Seattle-based company is partnering with Chinese e-commerce channels YiGuo.com and youpinfood.com, two of the largest fresh food websites in the country, to distribute its products.

Through its YiGuo partnership, the company will also be able to sell via YiGuo's mobile app and Alibaba's Tmall online supermarket.

The company has added Chinese versions of its website and will use Chinese social media platform WeChat to communicate to consumers.
