Thai exporter moves in on Belize shrimp producer

Seafresh Industry, the Thai exporter which recently set up a joint venture in the UK, has acquired 50 percent in Belize Aquaculture.

The investment was done through Seafresh Industry Invest (SII), the UK subsidiary that Seafresh set up in 2011 when it acquired the UK shrimp supplier,  Blue Earth Foods.

Following the transaction, Belize Aquaculture will be 50 percent owned by SII and 50 percent by “existing shareholders” of Belize Aquaculture, “who are not connected persons,” Seafresh said in a statement signed by its chairman Narit Chia-Apar to the Thai Stock Exchange.
