Spanish private equity firm Alantra has acquired Mercadona fish supplier Union Martin in an deal worth between €70 million ($85.9 million) and €80 million ($98.2 million), reports El Economista.

Union Martin is a large processor and distributor of cephalopods and different species of fish including plaice, sole and meagre with a focus on value added production.

Based in the Canary Islands, the company supplies to Japan, China, Singapore, Uruguay, the United States, Italy and Greece. In Spain it is a seafood supplier to retail giant Mercadona.
