Russia and Argentina signed a draft of a five-year agreement on fisheries cooperation to facilitate seafood exports from Argentina to Russia, reports Merco Press.

Under the agreement, which could be extended for another five years, Russia will also obtain a right to fish in Argentine waters.

The document also includes cooperation to step up combating illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing, conservation and restoration of marine biodiversity and fish stocks, and work on scientific projects.
