Winter is upon us and Christmas is fast approaching, but that's never slowed the seafood news, which continued to come thick and fast during October.

The month was characterized by travel. Industry events were taking place left, right and center all over the world – and IntraFish journalists were there to bring you the all best coverage and keep you fully updated.

It was a month where we reported from the IntraFish Seafood Investor Forum in Iceland; Conxemar in Spain; the World Nutrition Forum held by animal health and nutrition company Biomin in South Africa; The Groundfish Forum in London; AquaSur in Chile; AquaExpo in Ecuador; and the UK Seafood Summit in Scunthorpe, UK.

And this, of course, was on top of our usual day-to-day reporting.

The most read story last month came when we broke the news of the 2019 groundfish supply projections, which forecast a drop of around 2.6 percent across all the main wild whitefish species.

The top 10 also saw stories from the United States with the China-US trade battle still gaining traction, as well as stories following Hurricane Michael's impact on the new groundfish trawler North Star, and a Silver Bay Seafoods/Tri Marine tie-up.

Stories on aquaculture diseases and and land-based salmon also proved popular.

But that was far from all, and you can check out the month's most read stories to catch up below.

Also, make sure to check out the commentary pieces by IntraFish editors and guest commentators, as well as the latest edition of our IntraFish Podcast.
