According to the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs the Norwegians are not making any comment about the possibility of the anti-dumping duty being converted into a minimum import price (MIP). The Norwegians only argument is that – in accordance with the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) – there are no justifiable grounds for trade barriers against Norwegian salmon. The WTO regulations are such that after the hearing deadline expires this afternoon, Norway cannot demand to present new arguments before the Commission.
