In recognition of his achievements, IntraFish Media is donating $1,000 (€787) to the Fisheries Scholarship Fund (FSF), the charity chosen by Connelly.
FSF is a tax-exempt, philanthropic educational organization supported entirely by voluntary contributions from individuals and companies in the fish and seafood community.
When Connelly took the reins of NFI in 2003, he began a systematic destruction of the organization, intent on rebuilding it into a more effective, albeit leaner, organization.
