Last week, the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) first offered to mediate a growing dispute about the sharing of its certificate for the Alaska salmon fishery, saying solving the matter was urgent.

Now, the certification body is saying it has done its part, and the rest is up to the two battling parties, the Alaska Salmon Processors Association (ASPA) and Seattle-based Trident Seafoods.
