Constroversial whistleblowing website Wikileaks has published tens of thousands of emails related to allegations against Icelandic fisheries giant Samherji, offering a massive paper trail

The group, founded by Julian Assange, loaded the onto a searchable page it calls "Fishrot", after Samherji's top executive in charge of Namibian operations, Johannes Stefansson, made allegations against the company and founder and CEO Thorsteinn Mar Baldvinsson.

Stefansson alleges that he paid bribes to Namibian government officials in exchange for access to quotas in the country's waters at the behest of Baldvinsson, according to Icelandic bi-weekly newspaper Stundin.

Balvinsson stepped down from his position on Thursday.

Among the data dump is a range of documents, including emails between top Samherji executives discussing strategic plans, commenting on legal questionnaires, sharing company presentations and discussing press coverage of the company and other seafood companies, such as Pacific Andes, running afoul of regulations in African countries.
