French insect meal producer hails sea bass feed test results

French alternative protein producer Ynsect said it has been bouyed by recent trials on its insect meal in seabass feed.

Working with the HCMR research institute in Greece, Ynsect undertook trials on European sea bass, a carnivorous fish, known to be highly dependent on the inclusion of fish meal in its diet.

"The results are very promising," the company said.

Juveniles of 4g were fed for 9 weeks with three different treatment diets; a control group with 30 percent fish meal inclusion, TM 30 (30 percent fish meal replacement) and TM100 (100 percent) fish meal replacement.
