Norwegian newspaper Finansavisen reports feed giant EWOS is owed NOK 180 million (€22.9 million/$30.1 million) in unsettled feed bills by Chilean fish producers.

On Tuesday Cermaq issued a report in connection with the sale of EWOS, which stated: ”Up to NOK 180 million (€22.9 million/$30.1 million) is to be paid to Cermaq when EWOS receives payments for various overdue receivables.”

IntraFish reported July 2 that EWOS had cut out deliveries of feed to Spanish Pescanova’s two Chilean salmon production companies, Acuinova and Nova Austral.

IntraFish's estimate in April was that the two companies combined feed debt was around NOK 200 million (€25.5 million/$33.5 million).

Finansavisen reported Wednesday that doubt concerning parts of the debt owed to EWOS could mean that Cermaq won’t receive immediate full settlement of the 6.5 billion. EWOS’ new owners are the investment funds Altor and Bain Capital.

Finansavisen "is aware" the bulk of the NOK 180 million (€22.9 million/$30.1 million) are tied up with the two Chilean companies.
