The European Union agreed for Thailand to negotiate its export quota for six processed fish and shrimp products, reports Bangkok Post.

The request was lodged by Thai trade representatives in December last year to deal with quotas for 31 items Thailand had prior to Brexit negotiations.

Thailand lodged a similar request to the United Kingdom for 30 products including six processed fish and shrimp products.

If a Brexit deal is reached, Thailand will have space to maintain current trade policies until December 2020, said Auramon Supthaweethum, director-general of the Department of Trade Negotiations.
