A federal court has stopped Illinois-based caviar supplier Fort Massac Fish Market from producing caviar until it fixes sanitation and other problems, said the US Department of Justice Wednesday.

At the request of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a complaint was filed last week against Mary Parrish for violating the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

The complaint alleges two 2016 inspections of Parrish's fish market showed "poor sanitation practices, including failures to sanitize hands, utensils, and food surfaces; insect residue throughout the building; and a pet dog in the facility," according to the DOJ.
