Three of the seafood industry's largest companies will be beneficiaries of a fisheries and technology grant fund designed to encourage groups to move toward new sustainable technologies.

The Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technologies Adoption Program (FACTAP), managed by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), awarded several companies -- including Mowi, Cermaq and Cargill -- funding of over CAD5.4 million (€3.6 million/$4.3 million) to create "a greener, more ecologically friendly fisheries and aquaculture industry in British Columbia."
