It was only six months ago that Kim Gorton, president and CEO at US seafood supplier Slade Gorton, was on a virtual hearing urging US lawmakers to pass more federal stimulus, describing the catastrophic business impacts of the pandemic, which has left the US foodservice industry with over $2 billion in outstanding debt.

“Being mindful of supporting the foodservice industry as it opens up again, we’re in a much better place than we certainly were a year ago," she said Tuesday during the IntraFish Seafood Outlook Forum 2021, where she served as a panelist.
