The CEO of Iceland's largest seafood company has filed charges with the Reykjavik Metropolitan Police against a former managing director at the group's Namibian affiliates, claiming the executive made false accusations of attempted murder and kidnapping.

Thorsteinn Mar Baldvinsson, who recently returned to the CEO post after recusing himself during a third-party investigation of the company's dealings in Nambia, filed the charges on Tuesday, citing Johannes Stefansson's allegations in the press and in a fundraising site Stefansson has set up to to pay for medical costs related to what he claims was an attempted poisoning.
