Mistubishi-owned salmon farming group Cermaq named Lars Galtung as its new global director of communications and sustainability, the company announced Tuesday.

Galtung, who takes up his role June 1, has held various executive communications roles with If Insurance Norway, dairy product distributor Tine, and Nasdaq.

Cermaq farms salmon and trout in Norway, Chile and Canada. Cermaq reported NOK 10.6 billion ($1.2 billion/€1 billion) in revenues in 2019, and produced 184,000 metric tons of salmonids.
