The Scottish seafood industry has appointed Taylor Calon as its fixer in Boulogne-sur-Mer as it tries to untangle border issues that have seriously hobbled exporters since the United Kingdom began trading outside the European Union on Jan. 1.

Calon previously worked as a sea-based agent on the DFDS Calais/Dover line, and then as a port agent for the Toulon Chamber of Commerce.

Based in Europe's largest seafood processing hub the French local will need to hit the ground running given the delays continue that continue to damage the shellfish sector.
