Nutreco, one of the world's largest animal nutrition and aquafeed firms, is taking a larger share of the land-based salmon farming segment, closing a NOK 35 million (€3.4 million/$4.1 million) investment in Proximar Seafood, the Per Grieg-backed group constructing a facility near Tokyo, Japan.

Though the location was one of the major factors luring Nutreco to the project, Proximar is also one of the most developed firms seeking funding, Nutreco's Chief Innovation Officer Viggo Halseth told IntraFish.
