NGO Rainforest Foundation Norway is urging salmon producers and retailers to boycott Cargill and animals raised with the US agri-giant's feed because of the company's continued links to deforestation in Brazil through its soy purchases.

Although Cargill's subsidiary Cargill Aqua Nutrition in Norway certifies soy from the same producers in Brazil as the other salmon feed suppliers and producers including Biomar, Skretting and Mowi, the NGO said that since the parent company continues to be linked to Amazon deforestation, the boycott is warranted.
