Chilean salmon and trout exports to Brazil weathered the global coronavirus pandemic better than expected during the first nine months of the year, falling just 5.5 percent during the period.

Combined exports to Chile's second most important market came in at 82,241 metric tons compared with 86,983 during the same period a year earlier, Chilean customs data show.

Salmon accounts for around 95 percent of these totals, according to trade body SalmonChile.
