Global tilapia production is expected to edge 0.8 percent higher in 2020 and increase by 3.8 percent in 2021.

But with production from China and Indonesia expected to dip this year and see very moderate increases in 2021, it is left to other countries and regions to keep production growth in positive territory.

Indeed, what growth there is this year appears largely to be driven by Egypt and South America, with Brazilian tilapia production expected to surpass the 500,000-metric-ton mark next year.
