David Head, the CEO of Australian yellowtail kingfish producer Clean Seas, is retiring from the company after what has been a particularly tough year for the group.

After almost five years as CEO, Head announced his plans to retire in August, with a departure date set for October.

Head alerted the company’s board earlier this year that he was considering leaving the company, but at the time had not settled on timing.

The business impact of COVID-19 and Clean Seas' market focus for 2021 and 2022 led to discussions and a subsequent agreement with the board to bring forward retirement plans to October, the company said.
