Six companies affiliated with a leading Russian pollock harvesting company have been kicked out of the country's Pollock Catchers Association (PCA) for proposing ways to reform the sector.

The Russian Fishery Company (RFC) is asking the government to make reforms to the pollock fishery as part of an effort to boost the fishery's sustainability score under the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification program.

The companies were excluded for violating a clause related to the "committing actions that contradict the goals and/or objectives of PCA," according to a recent PCA release.
