Italian aquaculture equipment company Badinotti Marine Group recently launched its "Oceanis 2" submersible cage off the coast of Aland, Finland, which it hopes will change the face of fish farming in the region.

As part of a collaboration project with the Natural Resources Institute of Finland (Luke), the submersible cage could solve a significant problem facing Finland’s fish farmers, namely drifting ice.

The submersible cage is located between the Aland and Kustavi sea area, in the archipelago adjacent to the city of Turku.
