Mowi, the world's largest publicly listed salmon farmer, plans to plough €22 million ($25 million) into the Irish market with four new salmon farms, indepedent.ie reported.

The Irish operations have been performing ahead of budget, Mowi Ireland Managing Director Jan Feenstra said. However, the investment could only follow through if the company successfully acquires additional licenses.

"If we get the licences we are looking for, and we have new ones in, we could double our employment in a matter of four to five years," he said.
