As land-based production builds up in the United States, aquaculture feed giants will have to consider building a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) focused facility to cater the demand, Ole Christensen, VP of Danish feed giant BioMar, told IntraFish.
"We look at it as whether the chicken or the egg comes first," Christensen said. "I'm quite sure we will potentially see more facilities coming up and more production plans for fish feed coming out of the United States."
