Norwegian krill company Rimfrost managed to more than double its sales in 2019 to reach NOK 304 million (€27.9 million/$31.5 million), while never owning a boat.

"[Last year] was very good, and so far in 2020 it looks even better," Stig Remoy, CEO of the company, told IntraFish sister publication DN.

Krill is mainly processed into meal for aquaculture and other protein production, but Rimfrost has focused efforts on the higher-paying market of health foods and supplements.

"We are experiencing growth in all markets, especially in Asia," Remoy said via video link from the company's head office in Alesund.
