Brazil's shrimp producers have secured BRL 400 million (€64 million/$70 million) in credit lines and other guarantees that will be used to offset the effects of the coronavirus crisis.

Loans and other credit facilities are being made by available by northeast Brazil-based Banco do Nordeste (BNB), a major backer of the country's shrimp sector.

Available funds will be used to repackage debt, finance working capital, running costs and investments among other things, Itamar Rocha, president of shrimp producers trade body ABCC, told IntraFish.
