Potential disruptions to the fishmeal supply in China from the coronavirus outbreak appear to be mitigated for the time being with low seasonal demand and stable stocks, but the ongoing crisis is beginning to have an impact on the country's massive aquaculture sector.

China has been struggling to get industries back on track with continuing restrictions on the movement of goods and people, which has resulted in huge backlogs at ports.

A lack of sufficient workers to offload containers, staff warehouses and drive goods between locations has meant cutbacks on exports from several countries, including Peru, the world's largest supplier of fishmeal and oil to the nation.
