Cooke Aquaculture has notified Candian authorities of a positive test for infectious salmon anemia (ISA) at its Cold Ocean Salmon production site in Newfoundland.
The Cold Ocean Bay D'Espoir site was stocked with more than 480,000 fish.
ISA was identified on Jan. 21 during the province’s routine fish health surveillance program.
Cooke said the company is making plans to harvest the fish pending confirmatory testing.
