Ecuador posted record shrimp exports in 2019, both in volume and value, hoisted by Chinese demand, according to Ecuador's Camara Nacional de Acuacultura (CNA) trade body.
Shipments during 2019 reached 1.39 billion pounds (635,000 metric tons), a 25 percent increase versus 2018. Revenues from those exports rose 14 percent from a year earlier to $3.65 billion (€3.3 billion).
Exports by volume in December were 9 percent higher than the same month of 2018 at $105.9
