Vitapro is asking prosecutors in Chile to dismiss charges of price fixing against its feed producing subsidiary Salmofood, citing a lack of credible evidence.
It follows a request by Vitapro to prosecutors asking for access to evidence related to the case.
Prosecutors want Chile's free competition court to fine the companies a total of around $70 million (€63.2 million) for the alleged collusion, which they say took place between 2003-2015.
The FNE has recommended the court not fine Cargill, given its role in outing the alleged price-fixing ring.
