Establishing Brexit certainty on trade and tariffs and reforming the value added tax (VAT) system are just two of the demands from the UK seafood industry sitting in the in-tray of newly elected Prime Minister Boris Johnson this morning.

This comes after Johnson and his Conservative party was returned to power with a clear majority after calling an election in an effort to break the logjam among lawmakers surrounding the terms of the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union, now scheduled for Jan 31.
