US salmon processor Silver Bay Seafood was fined by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) after its facility in Sitka, Alaska, created a pileup of waste on the seafood floor more than double permitted levels.
The EPA discovered Silver Bay had violated its wastewater discharge permit during a routine inspection.
